Summer Intern – Accounting (Real Estate Development)

This internship is expected to begin in June 2026 and last 10-12 weeks.
Our internship program is designed as an on-site experience, and we’re not able to offer remote opportunities at this time.


Position Overview:
If you are a spreadsheet sidekick who gets oddly satisfied when a stack of transactions finally lines up like little financial dominoes, you might be our ideal summer accounting intern. The ideal candidate will be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or graduate degree program in Accounting or Finance and possess strong analytical skills.

As part of the internship, you will work alongside a talented team of real estate development accounting professionals who will provide hands-on learning experiences to enable you to develop a broad understanding of the accounting experience within the commercial real estate development space. You’ll help track and reconcile transactions, organize financial records, and assist with general day-to-day accounting functions — all while learning how real‑world accounting works behind the scenes. This role is perfect for someone who loves details, enjoys solving small numerical mysteries, and wants to build a strong foundation for a future in accounting..

KEY RESPONDIBILITIES:
AP & Vendor Management 

  • Receiving/Saving and uploading invoices. 
  • Tracking invoices throughout approval process
  • Manage payments to Contractors and Vendors
  • Invoice research

Development Draws

  • Assist with compiling draw packages
  • Verifying and requesting lien waivers and CO
  • Support and Manage Schedules

Reimbursable Draws

  • Update spreadsheets for reimbursement
  • Assist with “Launch” draws and spreadsheet updates (backup)

Lot Closings

  • Tracking/Saving Lot Closings
  • Deposit Checks (Lot Fees)
  • Book JE for Lot Closings

Month End Support 

  • Assist with Journal Entries
  • Assist with Bank Reconciliations
  • Supporting Reconciliation Efforts


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate-level college student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Self motivated, with strong attention to detail.
  • Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen.
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Excel.
  • A creative thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to take ownership of a project and see it through to completion.
  • Capable of working productively in a team setting, as well as independently.
